For example, Railroad Earth's new live double-disc, ELKO, destroys a lot of this. Check it out -- the mandolin player is an old prog-head, and they stretch songs out to 16+ minutes at times, with incredible musicianship. It ain't really bluegrass, despite the traditional instruments. What a crock.
