What I want Facebook to do

One thing I’d really like Facebook and other social networks to do is give me that ability to block all .gif files containing Hallmark-card platitudes…

    You ready to really hate them? Most of them come from like-farm accounts. You make a Page, you autopost platitudes, Cheezburger pics, someecards, patriotic tripe, whatever. Then you auction off the page to spammers. Yep, you want a Facebook page with 20,000 fans? Who are pre-selected for naïveté? You can buy one.

    Yes, that figures. I’ve started muting *all* photos shared without accompanying text. Whether that will result in FB showing me less of the things remains to be seen.

    It shouldn’t take that much effort to write half a dozen words explaining *why* you’re sharing this picture, surely?

    I agree Tim and I’m as guilty of it as anybody. Being on a different Continent that many of my good friends, it’s sometimes embarrassing to read a post of something I’ve posted only to realize it has a completely different meaning across the pond. I think I’ll quit that nonsense!
