    Not sure I want Facebook to be held up as an example to follow. They regularly break the simple read functionality for non-members.

    Facebook is (or at least was) notorious for pushing stuff out into production without testing it properly.

    What that linked article demonstrates is how “The cool kids must always use the newest shiniest thing” is a pernicious anti-pattern in the software industry.

    As someone who just spent three days fighting with promises trying to control Selenium with JS, I heartily high-five this man.
