The Dark Side of Warblogging

I've always though the Warblogger movement has more that it's fair share of racist hatemongers and other deeply unpleasant people. Now one blogger in particular has started issuing death threats and publishing the home address of his target, which crosses the line from ugly talk to genuine evil. Read about it here and here.

The consensus is that the individual in question is probably all belligerent talk, and is probably, like most bullies, a coward. But I can't help thinking that the next Timothy McVeigh will come from the darker corners of Warblogging or Freeperdom.

I think that the major concern here is not so much with Misha himself but that someone who is genuinely deranged could come upon the site and decide to take action indepedently, using the information provided there. In my opinion, it was publishing the address and other personal information that crossed the line; if Misha had just made his comments about Blumrich and left it at that, I don't think people would have taken it as a serious threat.

Agreed, it's publishing of the home address that's the evil act.

Either he's fully aware of the possibility of some extremist nutjob taking action, or else he's being criminally stupid in not considering it.

Either of which are evil, as you state. I started reading about this the other day and just shook my head.
